In principio era il mare

Le Langhe: oggi colline e vigneti, un tempo il mare!  

Milioni di anni fa, le colline delle Langhe erano sommerse da un mare caldo e poco profondo. I sedimenti lasciati dall’acqua hanno dato forma alle terreche oggi accolgono i vigneti, custodendo nella loro trama la memoria di un oceano primordiale. In questo senso, “In principio era il mare” racconta la nascita segreta del paesaggio, dove terra e acqua si intrecciano nel tempo. Sullo sfondo il Monviso che osserva le barchette navigare sulle colline, come ricordi leggeri di un mare ormai lontano.

The Langhe: Today Hills and Vineyards, Once the Sea!

Millions of years ago, the hills of the Langhe were submerged by a warm, shallow sea.

The sediments left by the water shaped the lands that now host vineyards, preserving within their texture the memory of a primordial ocean. In this sense, “In the beginning was the sea” tells the secret birth of the landscape, where land and water intertwine through time. In the background, the Monviso watches over little boats sailing across the hills, like light memories of a sea now distant.
